Camille Khouri: How do you create your designs?
Kathryn Wilson: Everything we do is drawn by hand. It’s been that way from the beginning. I still find, when I draw by hand, I can close my eyes and see it in my mind’s eye; whereas CAD drawing, which you get taught at school, doesn’t have that immediacy. I scan my pencil drawings into the computer and work on colour blocking and things like that from there. I always check with my head of design and sales, Julia Ford, that the design is still cool – she’s five years younger than me so it’s good to have that take.
